When designed, engineered and installed properly,
carbon dioxide systems will not damage sensitive
electronic equipment. Carbon dioxide has no residual
clean up associated with its use. When properly
ventilated, the gas escapes to the atmosphere after the
fire has been extinguished.
Carbon dioxide is most often used for localized
applications such as printing presses and engine
turbines. It is best suited for unoccupied areas or
areas where adequate warning can be given to allow for
evacuation prior to a system discharge.
