COOLAIRE CONSOLIDATED, INC. formally started in 1969
and engaged as a main supplier of U.S. manufactured air
conditioning equipment to projects in the U.S. bases, as well
as to government and local building accounts. Company name
then was COOLAIRE ENGINEERING.
The company exclusively
represented for the Philippine market renowned U.S.
manufacturers, and provided for the marketing and selling
activities on an indent commission basis.
During the
early 1970's Coolaire Engineering won major contracts to
supply various projects in the U.S. military installations of
Clark Air Base and the Subic Naval Base, as well as the U.S.
government's facilities in Baguio and Sangley. Until the
departure of the US military from the Philippines, Coolaire
was a major supplier to its air conditioning requirements. The
bulk of Coolaire's projects then were with the U.S.
military.
The latter years of 1970's saw Coolaire
continue to win major contracts to supply McQuay and Carnes
air conditioning equipment not only to the very strict and
quality conscious U.S. military installations but also to
local commercial building projects. Immediately in 1984,
Coolaire positioned itself as a major supplier of
refrigeration systems in support of the food manufacturing
industry. This encompassed the very crucial mechanical
facilities of cold storage, freezing, and transport
refrigeration. Coolaire became a major player in the ammonia
and halocarbon refrigeration industry having supplied
equipment to the different industrial plants of some of the
country's biggest companies.
COOLAIRE
CONSOLIDATED, INC. 1986 onwards
In 1986, the
group decided to change the company operating status from a
single proprietorship entity to a corporation. Thus, Coolaire
Consolidated, Inc. was incorporated; to pave the way for its
future growth and expansion plans. In 1989, Coolaire decided
to re-involve itself with the construction industry, which was
then starting to become more active and to position itself as
a major player in time for the expected construction
boom.
That same year, Coolaire organized its
construction sales department, and upon careful evaluation of
its strengths and capabilities, decided then to focus on the
Fire Protection industry. This is in addition to the company's
capability to design, supply and install air conditioning
equipment, and provide for metal fabrication and erection
works. This decision made Coolaire's Fire Protection Division
the newest entrant in an industry dominated by three major
players at the time. Coolaire then on, had the ability to be a
single-source supplier to customers for air conditioning, fire
protection and structural fabrication and erection projects,
thereby expanding its capability to handle bigger
projects.
In 1995, Coolaire-Fire Protection became the
Philippine dealer for Ansul one of the world's biggest fire
protection manufacturers specialized on petrochemical
protections systems. Year 1996 onwards paved the way for the
integration of allied and complementary products and services
in the fire safety field, as well as in the air conditioning,
transport refrigeration and structural fabrication
industries.
